Default Tuning is fun

Went to the dyno today. I continue to learn about my power FC and the datalogit hardware/FC Edit Software. I will post a pic below. Basically all I did was show up and tun. first run is untuned right after I arrived the last/best run was after about 45-50 minutes of tuning. no new parts just a little tinkering with the fuel settings.

This dyno is low compared to most so I am pleased with the overall result. (Ausmith has even comapred this dyno to Kings and agreed it is low)

my car setup is here http://www.b18c5.net.

.....it looks like you didn't do any cam gear tuning. Is this correct?

Nope, no time. Had one hour and had so many things I wanted to try with the datalogit I focused on that. Used some injecor correction factors and smoothed my A/F curves.

I have stock cams and have come to decide that cam gears are borderline a waste of time for what their return is.

I'm glad somebody enjoys dyno tuning. I've had nothing but grief with my dyno shop recently.

Trey - do go back for some cam gear tuning...you'll find it was definately worth it for me. I pulled ~4hp higher for the entire curve by the time I was finished.

Unfortunately the runviewer doesn't see the A/F data. I am around 13.6-13.7:1

I figured why stress over 100 rpms of power plus I can make it smooth like everyone wants but it loses a good bit of power to do it. THere is more area under the curve with the bump, smooth or not.

oh ok i was gonna say...i felt bad just doing 20 straight runs on my car...and it was the first time running it after the buildup. I still need more dyno and street time though, its not close to done.

Leaning to tune is pretty cool, I'm still a little low on the learning curve though

With your mods did you have to add or subtract fuel? I've got a ITR with AEM CAI, JDM ITR header, T1r race cat & exhaust. I've heard that the stock ITR ECU runs rich correct? So I'll be ok (not running lean) but may be leaving power on the table?

Aaron.

I removed fuel but I also have Prelude (290cc) injectors. That said i am hardly using them with what i have. You will be fine but definitely are leaving power on the table

In your opinion is a fpr even necessary (to add fuel) or would vafc be sufficent as I would only be needing to reduce fuel (to be confirmed and tuned on a dyno of course).

My opinion might not be as worth as much as others but i personally don't think you wil need an FPR. If you find you are needing mor fuel I think adding an FPR and then trimming out is better than adding fuel with a VAFC but others will have better input.

I think a VAFC will give you good gains but you might look into an S100 Hondata system as well.
