Well my x got pulled over for her tanabe hyper medallion exhaust and front licence plate. but she talked her way out of the exhaust ticket. but the pig made her lift up her hood, and there was the ebay intake. now she has to take her car somewhere to get it checked (she didn't exactly know where it was). She said it was a place where the test the intake or some ****. here's a couple questions

1. What is this place gonna make her do, and what are they gonna do to the car?

2. Can I just put the carb sticker on?

3. Or should I put the stock intake on?

4. And anybody with experiece, let me know.

Did the eBay intake have a CARB sticker (hopefully it did)? If it has one, put it on. Otherwise, put the stock one back on.

Most likely she'll have to take it to a smog ref. Assuming it doesn't pass visual, she'll need to put on a CARB legal intake or the stock one, and have it smogged again to have a passing certificate.

 

just throw on the stock one or buy a aem one, they come with carb stickers.

 

Stock one takes 1 minute...just do it.

yeah, my friend has a aem intake, i was about to take that sticker and just put it on her intake. so she's gonna have to go to a ref. is it just a visual inspection? do they do any testing?

 

They probably just gave her a fix up(dismissable) ticket. If they did, all u need to do is put your stock one back on and take it to your nearest CHP. The CHP will see that u fixed it(putting back your stock one) and then the ticket will get signed and stamped. After all thats completed take it to the court and show them its been signed.

They'll match up the CARB # on the intake and they'll figure out it wasn't made for that specific application (your ex's car). You'll have to end up putting the stock one back on anyways.

but yeah, i was with her for 6 years, and fixed it up when we were together. she doen't know what to do, and so i put it in, so now i goota take care of it.

from what I believed Jan 1 2002 was the First day of a new law that an Intake and exhaust were no longer fix-a-tickets.. but actually fines in which you must have to pay for the ticket.. and then get it signed off? am I wrong.. I only know this because luckily my last fix-it-ticket was on Dec 31st 2001 =P at like 11:30pm.. the clerk told me your lucky if you got it after 12 you'd have to pay $80+ on the modified intake ticket

 

gotta love va, they cant do **** for intakes, only exhausts, and i dont think they can even pop the hood, never asked any of us to do it......
