Default Starting car with wrong firing order cause damage?

The guy who was working on my car didnt know the exact firing order and mixed up the wires. He tried to start the car several times and it sputtered and died. A couple times, the car backfired. When he finally got it right, the car started and ran normally. Could this have caused any damage?

Ok, thanks. Because I was figuring that if the distributor was sparking in the wrong order, it would spark on the wrong upstroke/downstroke, and the back fires I heard was detonation. A hole in a piston or a bent valve is never good. So you think I should be ok? Because my car felt a tad sluggish, but it's probably all in my head. Everytime I get paranoid about something happening to my car, it always feels slower

Another thing, while trying to start the car, he gave it a little bit of gas to see if it would start, not knowing the right firing order. Would this hurt anything? Please bear with my paranoia

No you havn't. A 4 cyl. motor will not run on 2 cyl. It probably won't even run on 3.

Well it did !!.. and it actualy was not that bad.. sounded kinda funny but it startet right up.. so a 4 cyl will be abel 2 do it !!.. and it would run with 3 cyl as well...
the only brop is that it is not at the same balance as it is with all 4 running..

Alright,so the general consensus is that wrong firing order will not cause damage. Oh, just a word of advice, Magnacore wires suck ***! The reason the guy kept on changing the firing order around was because when I installed the magnacores on correctly, the car wouldnt fire up. The guy thinking I installed them wrong, went to town on the firing order! Even when he got the firing order right, the car still wouldn't fire up. I put the stock wires back on and walla!

Yeah, your car is fine. I'm **** about things like that too when it comes to my car. I put a set of Nology wires on my car and it wouldnt start either. I just stick to stock NGK's, they work the best.
