How to: DC2 JDM folding mirror install w/ video
Thought I would put this post in here since it is a cosmetic mod. Here is pictures and a video of the folding mirrors. My friend Tim who works at honda put these in for me. Didn't take that long once we figured out what wire goes where. He probably will post up a wiring diagram when he gets a chance. Thanks to FRITZINTN for these bad boys. Enjoy
Here is the project
Pic of second mirror, switch, and oem relay
Take off the door panel and mirror cover. Unscrew USDM mirrors and replace with the JDM.
Another pic of the door taken apart.
Remove switches from door panel.
You will need to be able to take out terminals so here is a pic of how to unlock the harness to pull out the terminal.
Here is a pic of the terminal we took out of the jdm harness.
Put the JDM terminal into the USDM harness in the exact spot it was.
You will see that the harness on the jdm mirrors have two pins that are different than the USDM. You will have to put in 2 wires so that they will work. You can see where you have to put them in the USDM harness by where the pins stick out.
Match up the wires on the oem relay to the USDM wires, then wire up the 2 dissimilar wires on the mirror harness, one to the wires you put in from the JDM harness and one to the power wire on the USDM harness. Solder and plug all the harnesses in. Waalla done. I hope this isnt tooooo confusing. Tim will post later and try to explain it better.
Here is the end results.
Here is the video. Thanks to We-todds cause I ran outta space on my comcast account.

Here is where we did the install. It's great that Scott honda lets Tim do projects on the weekend.
Thanks to Tim for all his help. He is the man doing all kinds of crazy **** I throw at him.
His SN is "hondatec38" if you have any other questions.

I would do it to help keep people or objects from hitting my mirrors in a parking lot (I think they fold up when the car is turned off, yes?). It would also be nice to fold them up when pulling up to a drive-thru window or ATM machine.
not to sound like a dick, or like im hating.. but what is the point of those mirrors?
I wish I had that, it woulda save me a mirror when some truck hit mine.

yeah that driver side mirror is pretty hard to turn in by hand
yea I have them too and to be perfectly honest they are pretty pointless, but I do use them where I park for work because on one side is a wall and I can get as close as possible. and also use it for going in to my very skinny garage

These are basically a cosmetic mod for show. This is not my daily driver anymore so I am trying to make a balance of show and go.

ok I think for most people it is pointless, like just another jdm item. which I guess is the original reason I got them anyway, because when i did get them I had a different job, so no parking next to a wall, and I didnt have any garage at all. so for me at first they were basically pointless, but now they do serve a purpose.
well it's jdm yo. in japan, the parking spots are really tight, that's why the folding mirrors are estential for that reason.

i dont see the point, you fold in your mirrors so you can get into a tighter spot, but then you cant open your door, what are you gonna do, exit trough the sunroof?
