My stereo cut out today for some strange reason. I have a sony mex-5di headunit and a mtx amp is powering it. The amp is on but its not giving any sound at all to the speakers. It also doesn't turn off anymore when i turn the stereo off like before. My amp for my subs works fine, turns on, and powers down when the headunit is turned off. Any ideas? I am going to go fidil with it tomorrow probably cuz its cold right now and dark, but i don't know why it just cut out like that. I removed the fuses for the 4 channel amp so that it would turn off and not kill my battery.

 

Sounds like you may have trouble with your wiring. Check to see if 12v is coming from your remote turn on wire after turning off your radio.
