I'm going to take a look at the lip in about 20 mins, but I was wondering if there are any markings like a Honda stamp or anything on the lip?

Sorry, but I really need to know in a rush as the seller just called me and gave me his address

comptech uses double sided tape, honda only uses the screw no tape

 

I would expect it to have some sort of Honda or Acura marking on the inside.

 

thx, but they do make replica ABS plastic as well, which is why i'm worried

the seller says he's never seen replica's that come w/ screws/clips, and this lip is currently painted CW

so i'm just wondering if they're any real definitive "Product of Honda" or something like that stamped

 

all the honda/acura body parts i have seen have a "honda" stamp somewhere. i'm sure it is no different for the ITR lip

 

that looks like a genuine R lip because you can see the screw mounts in the pic. I have a comptech lip, and there are no such screw mounts

 

ok, i bought it rite away b4 anyone else could get it, but the seller agreed to take it back if i found out it's not OEM, but I gotta find out by 2morrow.

here are some pics i took, the fit is pretty good, but still no Honda stamp...there are some numbers stamped on all the clips and at the end clips as well...







the last pic showed some damage, and there there's a blotch of dirt or something

what do u guys think???

1) it looks good, not flimsy

2) it has enough mount points

3) even if it was aftermarket, i'm sure you got a good deal for it.

4) it seems to be OEM, but if you REALLY want to be a OEM *****, i suggest taking it to acura and having them look at it under scrutiny. I'm sure they will charge you about $70/hour.

enjoy your new lip seems to be a worth while investment if it makes you happy

 

It looks like the OEM lip to me. I know that comptech uses double sided tape. I dont know of anyother company that makes 97 OEM ITR lips other than comptech. Id keep it. Looks good. Those numbers look like Honda Part Numbers.

 

i'm sorry but that lip is fake, why don't you just sell it to me. i don't mind putting fake stuff on my car

 

On my 97 ITR, the stock lip has a black plastic reinforcement piece that was attached to the entire backside of the lip

 

heres a pic of an oem 97 itr lip getting robbed of all its CW-ness.

it looks like u got the real deal, however its missing 3 mounting points.

Comptech comes unpainted. All OEM ITR lips come pre-painted in original ITR colors.

Comptech is made out of a different material and can be bent really easily.

 

That's OEM. "ST7" Acura Integra Body Part. Unfortunately, all part numbers molded onto the part never fits the part number we use in our database. But again, that's an OEM Lip.

i already told the seller i was gonna keep it last nite, and for about 100 US, i couldn't go wrong (even if it was fake)

 

$100 for the lip, good deal
