ECU fried?? Now what...
Well, I went to the gas station the other day and filled my car up. Then, when I finished the car started right up. About 20 sec. later the car died and would not start. Come to find out the car was not getting fuel or spark. So I figured the main relay probably went out. Well, I changed it and nothing. I smelled a burn smell coming from the ECU so I opened it up and looked and saw that it had fried some of the ECU. I have never heard of this happening before until now. So my question is my car is a DEL SOL VTEC which takes the P30. I can't find this damn thing anywhere. Will the JDM P30 ECU work. The car is OBD1 5spd. Can I run a SOHC civic ECU to get by? Where can these ECU's be found other than the dealer? Any help would be appreciated...Thanks
sounds like the injector drivers blew up. its a fairly common occurance (i have fixed few ecus with that problem)
yes JDM p30 will just as well as USDM (only difference is the speedlimiter)
yes you can drive around with almost any OBDI civic/integra/lude/accord ECU for the time being.
check my si;, complete ECU + 3 programs = $165 shipped
- i offer a Euro P30 program for the ecus so no worries about emissions or gas mileage either
