i heard that you lay the dry ice(in the bag) on the tar until it becomes rock hard then you chisel(sp?) it off.

i heard the dry ice technique works better, i did that on my old coupe, but i used a heat gun, and scraper, it turned to goo, and peeled up. But 2 days to finish completely
what are you planning on doing with the car?it might not even be worth removing

i bet u can get 30 lbs of tar out of an SI
maybe a stupid question, but what's the purpose of the tar??
it makes the car much quieter. STD/CX/DX/HF have alot les tar than the SI becasue SI is supposed to be "luxury" model over those. so its got more to make it quieter inside.
I'm laughing my *** off right now because, I've been outside all day running back and forth to HEB buying dry ice to remove all the Tar! Then I come inside read this post..
The dry ice works bad ***...watch out for the corners though...pain in the ***!

noise supressor.... takes road noise away...
mantains a good temp inside car on hot weathers when the exhaust starts to get hot
I didn't even realize the exhaust could heat up the interior of the car. Do you think that a stainless steel or maybe an aluminized exhaust would make a difference in how much it affects the temperature?

yeah, i have an STD and instead of putting dynamat or whatever into the car im' going to hold off until i can buy an SI. i mean, there's SO many differences between the different trims...mine has shitty 13" wheels, a shitty 62HP engine, a shitty 4 speed tranny, DPFI, no rear wiper, no sound deadening, no clock, no cigarette lighter, no sunroof, cheesy front seats (and that awful blue vinyl covering for them instead of cloth), no interior cloth trim, no real boot around the shift ****/e-brake, etc...i'm sure i'm missing some.
if you drive your car a lot you'll regret taking out sound deadening. ESPECIALLY if you have a performance exhaust...the SPLs of some of those setups are surprising. if you're JUST a racer then of course 30 pounds is huge.
