Hi Newbie....I'm a newbie too.
Anyways........If you're just looking for the regular KYBs then they're ok for stock ride heights. If you're lowered and are looking for adjustability then go with the KYB AGX, they're 4 ways adjustable and very good for the money. Of course you could spend more for Tokicos and Konis which are 5 ways, but if you're not going to Road Race or AutoX your car then the AGX should be fine. They're actually pretty decent for AutoX too.
BTW....you can get custom revalved Konis as well if you're running really high spring rates. But that also costs a lot of money. haha

yes, koni yellows are the best right now. I haven't heard too much feedback on the koni yellow neuspeed edition, but I'm sure they are excellent as well.
There is no "best". Different shocks for different applications. Go into a bit more detail than "have 96 gsr.", are you going to autocross? drag race? Come on, use common sense.

Penske are pretty nice......
For the money Koni Yellow are a standard "good" shock.
I have the Koni Neuspeeds. I like them. Since I run coilover springs the shorter rod lenght does help.
