bad IACV?
Sup still no luck I have a OBD1 b18b in my 98hb here are the symptoms:
When Cold Idle goes from 1800rpms 2100rpm (up down up down up down)
When hot Idle is low at around 500rpms sounds like its gonna stall but doesn't. Idle surges from 1k to 500rpms when I come to a stop.
Here's what I have done:
No vacuum leaks
Checked TPS
Checked Map
Cleaned IACV
Cleaned Throttle Body
Changed PCV
Adjusted Idle screw
I have NO checked engine lights. Car runs good other wise no Bogging or hesitation. When I unplug the IACV the car shuts off completely. What could it be? This **** is annoying me.

check on theback bottom of the throttle body and see if there is a plate held on by two screws. my 95 civic was doing the same thing, and I took it to a buddy of mine at honda and under that plate is another adjustment, turn that nut clockwise or counterclockwise till the idle stop reving up and down. i'm to sure if yours is the same but it might have helped.
I have the same problem right now too, I am not going to fix it until i do my head work. but my guy said its not a good thing or a bad thing, it won't **** anything up. but its good to replace it though

to check and see if the FITV is working or not do this. take of your intake piping so that just the TB is there, start the car and let it idle. place your finger just on the inside of the TB you should be able to see a hole that goes down to where you FITV is. when cold it should be sucking air, but when the engine is at normal temp the hole shouldnt be sucking anymore air. if it is then you need to replace it. well thats how it worked on my b18c1.

I noticed that when its warm it still sucks air and I played with the adjustment in it and my RPMs when cold fluctuate up down up down up down more than it used too. Whats the factory setting?

so did you turn the white **** all the way right or left? in my case, the white **** back out all the way left, and thats why it couldnt seal the air anymore. i think you should close that all the way.

did u close it all the way or did u leave room? Also I can't even adjust the idle screw cause when I unplug the IACV the car just shuts off.
