It's a jdm b18c spec r tranny. For all I know, it could be the bolt that I plugged my PS hose with...sounds like something else tho.

ok, my diagnosis...
when i am at a stop on level ground, i slowly let go of the clutch, letting it engage w/o any gas. i hear a clunking noise. throwout or release bearings? anyone confirm this who has better expertise than me?

Is it only one "clunck" or is there several cluncks that could be made by a rotating part? Do you feel the clunck in the clutch pedal ?
If it is only one clunck that you can feel in the clutch pedal there is a good chance it is the throughout bearing, a good lubrication should help.
