Default Just failed emissions! Woo!

Took my teg to get her inspected for emissions...and she failed. They said it was close though, but Im not really informed on this matter.

They said it could possibly be my air filter (he said it looks dirty, which it kinda is) and possibly an o2 sensor...

All I have on it though is my Apex N1 catback, but then again, maybe theyre trying to make a buck off me...

Any thoughts/opinions?

And no, I forgot to put on the silencer...When I asked them if that would help, they asked me what a silencer was...

yeap it fails inspection automatically....
well they are just trying to make you spend money
and after a few items that you buy from them they will make it pass

I wouldn't replace the 02 sensor unless it's defective or you know for sure is problem. Some suggestions, replace the air filter, do a oil change, and do a minor tune-up (spark plugs). Also run you gas tank till it's empty and filled up with super unlead.

You might have your timing too advanced...kick it back to 16 or even 12 degrees

they wont even test your car if your timing is not stock. Then they'll charge you like 25 bucks to adjust it right there on the spot.

If you need an o2, i have a 4 wire universal forsale, 55 shipped to you.

how long have you been running with the cat you have on?

is it stock?

I had comptech header/icebox and chipped ecu on my at the time 110k mile gsr. the cat was just toast.

i bought a new carsound from dave @ smsp. passed emissions easily.

if you have real problems passing emissions. you could always just buy a second cat and have it welded in place temporarily

can you scan your dyno test? they should highlest whats wrong .. if i can see it ai can tell you what you need to do.. oh just to let you kno its not the "AIRFILTER" being dirty.. if thats what they are saying... its the knock of the motor.. you might need restriction in the air intake...your prolly .2 off or so...im sayign this cuz thats the only thing you failed prolly...... also try to idle your car at 3k rpm for 3 minutes to warm up the exhaust manifold and the cat b4 you go on the dyno dont worry about your timing if its stock.. its mainly your intake system its lettign too much air in which it casuign your car to knock "restriction is the key " for knock on emmision test...need more fuel then air...
