nsx's used to, or maybe still do, run 16" front and 17" rear. thats all i can think of though.

FWD racing cars use bigger wheels up front and the size down in the rear. I know the JUN civic runs 225/40/16's up front and 195/50/15's in the back.

Can you say.. GRIP!

well i didnt post this in the integra forum, i got a civic dont never really go into that forum . i dont really appreciate some of youre negative or useless comment just so youre post # can go up. if you dont have anything usefull to say. dont say anything at all. im looking forward to getting this setup. it might not be nice or rice or whatever you want its going to be mines. the corvette come with a similar setup and so does the NSX its been done before and nothing new. just wondering if any one got any pics on a honda with this setup.

positive or usefull comment thanks
useless comment = post ******

Do you road race? If not, then why?

Japanese tuners run front heavy spring rates, and use tire size to tune in more/less oversteer. They usually run 16/17's in the front and 15's in the back. The increased slip angle in the rear gives more oversteer.

Drag racers on the other hand run smaller wheels up front to allow more sidewall flex. This helps the lauch by allowing the tire to "grab" the ground instead of slipping.

Well this kinda makes sense. You would want your 15" Rotas or whatever in the front because of the less weight and could run whatever out back because they aren't the drive wheels (although the added weight wouldn't help). this sounds ok for someone who buys 2 lightweight wheels with Azenis tires to replace the stock fronts (this is someone on a budget of course)

ARE YOU ****** SERIOUS?! you're comparing a fwd car to a rwd car?! you goddamn moron, the reason why they got bigger tires in the back and not the front is because they need more rubber in the back for rear wheel drive and handling purposes you stupid *** noob. If you don't know ****, don't post **** trying to defend yourself pretending like you know something. I suggest you never post on HT again until you know what you're actually talking about you dumbshit.

I'm not tryin to flame but....I really dont think you understand why people are laughing at/confused by this idea. Having bigger wheels in the back is something RWD cars do. Specifically domestics. This is because these cars are driven by their rear wheels and want to have something wider in the back. The goal is having more traction and grip in the back, and having 19x11 inch wheels or whatever tends to help.

Doing this to a front wheel drive car to imitate that look is a little ricey. Not horrible...I mean, it's not offensive to the eye or anything, it's just a ricey concept.

Damn, that's pretty harsh. One day, this noob may be featured in some magazine smoking the rear tires... of his 18's on the back of his Honda.

Now I'm wondering how bigger wheels would look back there the Honda were RWD.
