what should I do? b16a or ls-vtec
I am in quite a situation. I have a 90 integra that I just got, And I have a 91 civic with a b16a motor, which I plan to sell. I am considering swapping out the motors and trannies from both cars, and putting the ls in the civic and the b16a in my integra. My other option is to just swap the trannies (which I plan to do reguardless) and then selling the civic with the b16a and buying a b16a head and doing an ls-vtec swap. The only reason I don't want to do this is because I have crower stage 2 cams, and I am afraid if i put them in a head on an ls block that I won't be able to take advantage of the cams due to the rod ratio on the ls-vtec. So basically should I keep the b16a with the cams and then safely rev to 9,000 and in the mean time try and build an ls block to rev that high. Or just do the ls-vtec swap right now, and hope that I don't throw a rod. Thanks A Lot! and sorry for the long *** post.
It all depends on what you plan on doing with it, and how reliable you want the car...The ls/vtec is takin chances, yeah it is good with the low end torque, but you have to sure it has been built right.
