CEL 23.....KS not wired
After doing my b16a crx swap, i had a code 7, but the car ran fine. Then the car didnt seem to be running all that great (month later, last week)... I did the timing, it was way off, but i didnt jump the service connector?? Does that matter, would i have different results without doing that??
So now the timing is good, but its still not running to great. It started backfiring when i reached high revs, more so than it use to. It always did a little because there is a gutted cat, straight pipe, and a fartcan, thanks to the previous owner. I cant afford to deal with that yet. I also just realized i started putting 87 octane in it, a couple of weeks now, didnt think it would matter.
So today i tried to put the ecu cover back on (and couldnt get it on ... ....WTF) AND I REALIZED i have a code 23 now.... I had a broken knock sensor, got a new one after the swap, but it was soo hard to install so i never wired it up... Now why do u think that the code 23 appeared somewhere in the last month, but not immediatly after the swap??
I am guessing it started in the past couple weeks when my car didnt seem to run too strong..... Maybe the same time i started putting 87 in it?? I dont understand why it would matter, seeing the knock sensor is not wired.....
Would getting the CEL 23 change my cars performance, ie. timing wise? or adjust the map sensors or anything?? I heard cel 23 = no vtec, but i have vtec??? what gives???
Thanks for any info

Which way does your ecu face? Do the wires face the driver side or the passenger side?? Why wont the cover go back on and the whole line up with the red led light??
dude, trust me mine is running smooth as hell and i've got code 23, like i said ealier ground your knock sensor and you won't have that code anymore. as as the problem are you sure the 02's are wired up correctly cause mine weren't andi just fixed it and it purrs now. hope that helps a little.
