Vibration when in Drive or Reverse
When I am sitting there with my foot on the brake and I have the car in either R, D, S, or 2... the car vibrates a lot. I hear a lot of vibration coming from the back of the car and the mechanic told me that it might be related to my aftermarket exhaust. I have a greddy exhaust and it is toching the chasis. could this be it, if so what can I do to avoid the vibration?
the timing belt was changed 10k miles ago, so I do not believe that it would be that.

how would I go about fixing the problem if it is the exhaust? should i just stick something btwn the exhaust and the chasis? what material should I put there?
At the moment, I can think of a few things:
1) Get different rubber pieces for the hangars. They come in different sizes, and maybe you can get one that puts more distance betwen the pipe/canister and the chassis.
2) Go to a muffler shop and have them reweld the hangar. It should only be a small fee and shouldn't take long at all.
3) To to a local auto store and look in the muffler/pipe aisle. There should be things you can buy to reposition the pipe just a little.

there is no clanking sound... its just vibration all over the car, its a constand vibration and once I start driving (stepping on the gas) or even if im just coasting in gear, it wont do it anymore. The only actual noise is a rattling noise coming from the back which is probably I am not sure what it is because everything is securely placed and the license plate is also securely placed.

It's your exhaust. It's definatley time to get longer hangars. I need some too while you're at it, can you pick me some up?
Fix it soon before you have a hole in your nice aftermarket exhaust.

whoa, what do you mean i will have a hole in it? I do not know much about cars at all... i am guessing that hangars are what hold up the exhaust, and im guessing that I need longer ones so that it doesnt touch the chasis, but I do not understand how this could turn into a hole in my exhaust.
I tried putting a peice of high density foam rubber and it cut down on the rattling and vibration in the back, but the car still vibrates a little overall, a lot less than before, I also notice that in R it does it less than in the forward gears.
