ls/vtec piston
Okay well I've been trying to figure out which piston will work best for this sit up. I have a ls block with a GSR head that has been ported and polished.
i don't want to have to changed to forged rods so I want it to fit on to the ls stock rods.(if this is possiible)
I don't want such a high compression ratio that I have to run race gas. I would like to be able to 92 octane pump gas. I can handle adding a little bit of octane boost if needed.
At some point my engine is going to be nitrogen injected so they have to be able to handle this. If this is asking to much just set me striaght.
Thanx

Put ARP bolts in your rods and use US b16 pistons for an 11.6 comp. ratio.
EDIT: How much of a shot will you run? Didn't see that the 1st time.

So will the B16 piston fit directly into the block or wil they will requirer some milling?
I'm sure yet what set up I will run. It's going to be a small shot 50-75. If I go 75 I will put new cooler plugs and a new MSD ignition system.

Depending on the condition of the bores you might need to buy the overbore pistons. You might be able to get away with using the regular size pistons (81 mm) that will fit in the LS block.
about how much is this going to run my. So far the best price I have found is $350 for those pistons.
Well they give me that much of an advantage? I know my cylinders are in good shape they still have high compression they are close to stock specs and I did the leak test where you see how long the pressure holds. It held it with no problems.
Also how can I tell if I need a overbore?

I calculated $305.60 for brand new standard pistons and rings.

I wouldn't do an ls/vtec running LS pistons. Why waste a ported GSR head using low compression pistons? You should run a nice CR which you will get with these pistons and some nice cams to go with it.
