A Haynes manual can be your new best friend.

OK good, are there any tricks or preferred settings to the Haynes ones?

well, when i did the valves on my old crx all i needed was a feeler gauge and a screwdriver to turn the adjustment screws. but i didnt have a torque wrench to put the cover back on and, well, it wasn't pretty.

torque wrench to put the valve cover back on? isn't it like 10 ft/lbs for the valve cover? you should be able to tell that by hand. i always have and i've never had a problem. of course when you lift boxes everyday for 4 years you get to know what different weights feel like...

10mm wrench, flat head screwdriver, and a set of feeler gauges (45 deg. angled ones for the intake valves make things easier). You don't need a torque wrench for the valve cover bolts, but be careful not to torque them too far; they will snap very easily, as I know from experience.

I did mine tonight for the first time. I must say that these are SO freakin touchy. A small turn of the screwdriver makes a huge difference to how big the gap will be. You do want some drag on the feeler gauge.

Thanks for the list, do you have a pic of the 45 degree feeler gauge?

valve adjustments are the biggest pita. its all endurance do cilly 1 then go watch some tv come back etc. otherwise your backs going to hate you.

also ove never used a torque wrench on a valve cover and have never had any problems w/ anything.
