they are supposed to be turn signals, keep them as turn signals. Also in my experience, sidemarker housings don't like the constant heat from having the bulbs on all the time w/ parking lights, and the lenses tend to discolor over time.
Pardon my ignorance for I have not inspected the turn signal wiring yet, but I have some Stanley side markers I want to put on my '93 Civic and I'm not sure how to wire them. Any help?

yep, same thing happened with my old clear sidemarkers I had on my Camry.
As for wiring, just tap one wire to the turn signal wire of your corner light bulb, and the other one to the ground wire. I don't know the wire colors, but just hook them up and if it comes on w/ parking lights, switch to the other wire and it should function as turn signals. On a normal light bulb it doesn't matter which wire goes to ground so just pick 2 wires and connect.
