Default hondata ecu upgrade

i've only seen people that have the hondata ecu upgrade on their rsx have only a CAI and maybe suspension mods and tires, and thats its. would having headers and exaust be a negative upgrade or will it obviously UP the horsepower?? dont quote me just a question...

Actually having a header or exhaust or both would be a better idea to do. With having a header and exhaust you can let the car flow right without having the pressure bottle neck and slow you down. Most people who have the hondata ecu flash are recommended to have atleast a CAI so the ecu can perform right, but by having a header and exhaust it will greatly help the hp a bit more.

There are alot of people on http://www.clubrsx.com who have the hondata with intake, header and exhaust and some have some internals to help the car even more and are showing crazy hp gains. Go to clubrsx and search for a guy named EDO, he has the hondata flash, intake, exhaust, comptech race header, type R cams, and a few other mods and it pulling around 230-240 whp.

So to answer your question, no having exhaust or header will not hurt the power any, but you may want to reconsider the DC header. That header has a few dynos actually showing people losing hp. So look around and see whats the best thing for you to do. Good luck and if you have any more questions just ask and I will try and help you the best I can.

From what I have read at ephatch.com , the ecu is programmed or flashed for I/H/E. It will definitely be better to get header and exhaust.

We have setup an RSX with intake, headers, and exhuasts with the Hondata Upgrade and picked up about 8-10+hp throughout the powerband over just the intake upgrade. I highly recommend getting the Hondata upgrade with bolt-ons.

Question:

what does it mean by getting it with bolts on?

This is what I am getting for my RSX as soon as I can:

Injen CAI
JR header
Spoon N1 Exhaust
Hondata ECU <-- how the heck do I take the computer out if I don't have any shops for this? Have to order it through the net and send to clubrsx then send back.

the boltons are intake, header, exhaust. people here in TX that have the basic i/h/e & hondata are getting crazy fast times in the 1/4,like 13.8 w/ just that.

all you need for hondata program 4 is an intake... im sure as all of you know, the program 4 drops vtec point to 5200 and raises redline to 8600... its great to shift right back into vtec.. 2 of our clubrsx members broke into 13's with the simple bolt ons + hondata... i'd say it's def worth it.. save ur exaust money or wutever for it
