The germans have invaded japan! Well, i put new coilovers on, anyway...
First off, a titanic load of thanks to RR98ITR for selling these bad boys, shipping them in such a manner that they could have been dropped from 30,000 feet and they would have been fine, and finally for his help with a barage of stupid questions about installation and operation. Rinde is the man, he was very friendly during the whole negotiation process and kept me in the loop about everything, and got the spanner he'd forgot to ship to me as soon as I realized i didn't have it.
to Scott, everyone buy his stuff when he sells it, you'll be glad you did
Here's the original classified thread, which describes them well:

So now i've got me some 450/600 lb/in. F/R Bilstein/Ground Control/Eibach/Shocktek coilovers. Installation was pretty easy, although the left rear i installed backwards (the schroeder valve was facing forwards), and there was a whumping....i flipped it, but turns out that wasn't the problem, the main nut on top of the shock was loose,
me for not checking it. (they came assembled, but as he says, the rears were never installed so i was the first to discover the looseness). They're all snugged down now, and good to go. Some pix:
Front, also check tha new bling bling r0t0rz courtesy of Andy at Cobalt Friction
And the back
I've got the car lowered a bit, but it's honestly hard to tell how much since i'm riding on some stock prelude rims/tires that are a larger OD than stock...the gap is reduce, and there's definitely camber in the hizzy:
When i put something closer to stock size on, i'll re-assess the height, get it close, and then find some scales to cornerweight the *****.
Initial Impressions: 450/600 is the fizzle. The car feels more planted in turns (alot of this is probably the camber), acceleration out of corners the car is more sure-footed, and braking results in minimal dive. I'm still playing with the damper settings, i've got them at 3 turns from full firm (Scott said that 7 turns was the limit), but it seems to me that very little damping was happening at lower settings, i'm gonna bump them up to 2.5 turns soon and see what that yeilds. need to get them to an AutoX or track to really get an idea tho. Trasitions are a great deal less dramatic, not that they were bad to begin with...the car feels much more go-karty now. Alrighty then, that's about the size of it....i'll post more if anything of note comes up.
Rinde,

Pretty kool... Why would people change ITR wheels to any other type of oem honda wheels though? But your ride looks nice. Good job on the install..
Funny that you have camber though. I am lower than you and have no camer what so ever.

heh, it was a type R, i swapped the engine to B18B tho
The prelude wheel/tire combo are the only all-seasons i have....and if someone offered you lude rims & tires with 6000 miles for 100 bucks cuz they wrapped their junk around a tree, you'd take it too
last year i was on steelies (which are now paperweights essentially...Zyg, your steelies are again unloved, perhaps they'll find their way to someone elses hands. i just can't sell good parts tho.)
don't wanna go too low, form follows function.

wow, very nice indeed, btw are those brembo blanks on the front rotor?
the old ones weren't too fubared, but they've been relegated to backup status on account of surface cracking.
Nice new shizzle Aleph, looks very nice.
to Scott and
to the coilovahs!
How much do the brembo blanks run?
Chris - who just picked up some autozone roxors...

I just got my brake pads and fluid from Andie yesterday.
I won't go anywhere else but through him for pads/fluid/brake advice in the future!
yeah, my brakes are pretty much full on Andie setup now....got Axxis Ultimates in the rear, new front rotors, and my front race pads are from where he used to work. gotta love the goodies you find out about on honda-tech
I've found all my shiz on H-T. Either bought used stuff from h-t members, or new stuff through jackasses like Mike M, Leo and Dave (and Andie).
I can't wait to try the new front pads I just ordered for the track! (Axxis ultimates in rear, and ultimates in front for the street)

450/600 definately makes the bumps more noticable, but not really in a bad way...i've had a couple good whumps, but i've still got the damping pretty soft so it's not too painful. all my fillings are still in.

I just bought a set of front rotors from Andie to replace the second set of Brembo blanks I've killed. They were about $70 a set, but are painted black in the center and on the outside edge (around the vents). The boxes say Centric parts on them. I've been using DS3000 pads and they have been great, but I seem to go through rotors. We'll see haw they hold up to a track day or two. It may also be time for some cooling.
