Default Please Help with my Custom Turbo Setup.. I searched! :)

Hey, I'm hoping you can help me with this. I'm playing around with the idea of doing a junkyard/custom turbo setup. I am poor and can't afford to do it any other way really, so I need your help. After searching around for a long time, I found some good ideas for my setup but some pieces are missing. Please take a look.

$550 -Garrett T3/T04E Turbo (cheapturbo.com)
$200 -Tial 35mm Wastegate (used but mint)
$270 -Drop Shop Manifolds w/ ext. wg flange (thedropshop.tv)
$170 -Drop Shop 2.5" Downpipe (thedropshop.tv)
$175 -TIAL 50mm BOV (used but mint)
TOTAL SO FAR = $1365

What is everyone's impressions of the dropshop manifolds and downpipes? I dont mean the bullshit that went down with the owner, im just wondering if they are gonna fall apart on me are they?

Anyway, the real question is about the rest of my setup.. The two big things that I am missing are the oil feed kit and the IC/piping. Does anyone sell the oil feed kits or would I have to piece one together by myself? And how much are they?

As for the IC, I don't really want to use an aftermarket one because they are pretty expensive.. what cars came with decent performing FMIC that would fit a civic well? Is there anything else that you guys see that I am missing? Thanks for the help.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=438039 (oil lines)

Missing: Fuel management

Manifold: Who cares, if you can't afford it why ask?? Just get what you can. (not being a just realistic)

I/C piping: wouldn'r a cheap MIG (TIG?) machine be cheaper?

Wow, please edit and add to your posts, dont just keep posting over and over again like that..

Thats a pretty good set up you have there, especially if you can keep it under $2000.

if you want to do some welding and porting out you can get a JGS log style manifold. Oh yeah and instead of a tial bov you could look into getting a 1g bov.

RRE (roadraceengineering.com) can help you out with 450cc DSM injectors. Just went yesterday to pick up a set....some *** from washington bought the entire batch....arghh.....on the waiting list for them...
RC in torrance can help you out with cleaning and balancing them. Or you can by a set from RRE for 180

Thanks for the list, that helped me out a bunch.. well at least im hoping it will after PMing them.

Anyway, i got another question for ya'll. Are there any online stores that sell cheap t3's.. not a hybrid or anything, just the regular old t3's. Or do you guys think I should try to pick one up from a factory car? How expensive would it be to get a turbo rebuilt? Thanks.

Various rubber hoses to connect piping such as intercooler piping or transtion piping. For example, I need a 2 1/4 transtion hose to a 2 3/4 to fit the piping from my intercooler piping to my charger pipe to my throttlebody. That piece, roughly around 6 inches long was 50 bucks.

Silicone hoses are very expensive.

A 90degree 2.75" silicone hose ran about 130 bucks at Kinsler Fuel injection. I didn't buy it.. I order a similar hose from turbonectics that cost me 42 bucks. I just need to wait till it arrives here.

Guages can be VERY VERY expensive. I think my Defi guages were somewhere around $170-$250 per guage. Then add 2 mounts, 2 cups, and a "A" pillar mount, guages cost me around $1000 bucks. Just for 4 guages.

Guages also take some time to install.

good luck, it's a lot of work.

Ok, this is another revised list.. since this is getting kinda expensive (as I knew it would) I've decided to not worry about the extras yet and just add them on as I can afford them.

6. ) Custom 2.5" Exhaust ($400)
7. ) Garrett T3/T04E Turbo ($550)
8. ) Tial 35mm Wastegate ($200)
9. ) Drop Shop Manifold ($270)
10.) Drop Shop 2.5" DP ($170)
12.) DIY Charge Piping ($75)
13.) Manual Boost Controller ($25)
14.) Bosch Fuel Pump ($100)
15.) B&M FPR ($50)
16.) NGK Sparkplugs/Wires ($100)
11.) Misc. Stuff ($400)

The misc. stuff includes oil feed/return lines, silicon hoses, couplings, etc...

Is there anything else that I need to run this setup at 6psi? I will be adding a BOV, FMIC, Hondata, 550cc Injectors, Gauges, Turbo Timer, and all the rest later on as I can afford them but is this enough to run this setup at a low boost level. Let me know. Thanks!
