Default Gsr rev limits 6500

Well I have a Gsr and when I first start it up and rev it up it hits 8000 but the second time it only goes to 6500 and every other time after it has the same result 6500. What are the possible problems?

thanks

wow, are you retarted or really trying you're damndest to hurt you're car.

You're telling me you start you're car cold and rev it up to redline before its warmed up. You're a ****** genius...

Do you have any CELs? What octane gas do you use? Is the car warmed up yet?

Give us some info maybe we can help you, well with this problem at least...

okay...in more serious note, does it rev up to 8000 when the engine is warm?

6500rpm is the safe mode rev limit, is the CEL lit? Why would you rev the **** out of the engine when you first start it??????

Ok... Lets know just jump all over him. Maybe he means that AFTER the car is properly warmed up, his first hard pull will go all the way to 8000. Then any time after that, it will only go to 6500.

Does this cycle repeat each time you turn the car off and turn it back on??

Do you have NO CEL before that first pull. Then a CEL afterwards that stays on until you turn off the car and turn it back on??

If this is the case.... I believe there is something wrong with your Vtec. Do you know how to check the code? If so, check it to make sure.

Does your car seem weaker than it use to be during that first pull in the higher RPMs?

I had this problem with my GSR swap. I had the wires for Vtec Sol & Vtec Oil Press Switch switched. So, when my car tried to go into Vtec the first time, I would get a CEL, and it wouldn't rev past 6500. But I had no CEL until it tried to go into Vtec the first time.
