What is the difference between a SMSP carsound cat and a standard 2.5" carsound cat?
I tried searching, didn't find ****... I assume the SMSP is obviously more expensive, but what modifications to the cat are done by SMSP? Worth the money? Anyone have one? How much do they run?
Thanks dudes

Oh... so you kind of need the SMSP cat unless you plan on zip tieing the ****** on?
SMSP welds the flanges you need and includes an o2 bung if you need one of those(and includes bolts, nuts, washers and the 2.5" donut flange you need.

Hey, you are allowed to give crappy advice as a mod? You are suppose to set an example for us or all the threads will be bombarded with crap advice.
Some noobs won't be able to tell you are just joking and might get this done
Although, this is a sure fire way to ensure no exhaust leaks. It will be a bitch to do any maintenance on your car

Just weld the cat between your header and b pipe.

don't forget dave at smsp welds the heatshield onto the cat so that it won't rattle. But remember, a carsound is a carsound and the chances of them blowing out is still there. The quality that Dave puts into the SMSP cats makes it worth it, and he is great with dealing with customers. My first cat from him blew out, due to Carsound's fault, not Dave's, yet Dave still replaced it.

The best thing about the SMSP Carsound cat is that Dave positions the bung for the o2 sensor correctly so that when installed, the o2 sensor doesn't rub against one of the shift links. Previously I had another that did that and the rattling sound drove me crazy...

What's the alternative to Carsound cats?
What is the wait like for an SMSP modified cat? I definately think I'll be buying one when I purchase a header in the next month or so
I know the wait for headers/exhausts are a few months?

I run a SMS Cat along with my SPOON 4-2-1. GOOD STUFF!! Dave's welds are clean and the time and quality shows!
