Default question about alarm w/ trunk release...

if i bought an aftermarket alarm system w/ trunk release. will it work on my 98 ls since the trunk doesnt "POP" open when u open it. u have to lift it a little for it to open.

as long as your car has an electric trunk switch it will work.

If you pull on a lever it is manual. If you press a button it is electric

You can get an actuator kit that will interface with your alarm. The kits are pretty cheap. Check out http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd..._ID=9691&DID=7, only $13.80 (there's a minimum $20 order though). If you go with one of the alarms I mentioned in another post, the shop you choose should be able to add this for not that much more.

i bought the actuator off ebay for $20 bucks its easy to install, but you have to know the proper wire to hook it up too.
usually its the auxillary wire on your alarm that gets hooked up.
works great

you get get a new DEI one for around $30-$39 at most shops that carry DEI products (best buy, circuit city, etc)
