Default oil pressure gauge? the sender

i have an electric oil pressure gauge from auto meter and i need to know where the oil sender is located so i can tap into the wire. also the sender i for psi not level right?

I believe a sender is supposed to come with the guage.

yes but isnt there a factory sender i can tap into for it. this is how i did the electric water temp.i just ran 1 wire into 2. also is that factory for oil level of psi. obviously if it for level it will not work, that is why i ask. i think the oil lights are triggered by sudden changes in oil pressure or when the psi drops below a certain level the ecu trips the light, but i am not sure of this.

there is no factory sender
even if there were, you would get incorrect readings unless it was calibrated for that gauge

The factory oil sender is only a switch for the dummy light. It won't work for a gauge. Some models do have a control unit hooked up to it, but it still has the same functon. The stock sender is on the back of the block above the filter.
