Default need transmission help asap

tranny has benn working fine no grinding or anything for maybe 4 months its a j1 tranny. well lastnight i was running my car real hard and from a roll 3rd to 2nd, it will not go in to 2nd but its works fine 1st to 2nd to 3rd fine no problems,,,, so can somebody please help

when was the last time you replaced tranny fluid?

i just put the tranny in maybe 2 months ago, tranny does not leak and i always put 2and a half quarts all the time, but its been working fine the last couple of days till lastnight

What was your rpm's??
If you were running at too high of an rpm it will not go into a lower gear that easily. Call it a safety measure...
