The reason im getting another c1 block is because I threw a rod on my old block. The head is being rebuilt and the tranny and everything else is still good. I already have some ctr pistons, so couldnt I salvage all the other stuff from the damaged block and put them on this new block that im getting to complete it? Or do you think the parts I need from the old block are damaged? Also what else would I need on top of what RyanCivic2000 said? Sorry for the long post and Thanks for all the input

As long as the block you are getting has all of the main bearing caps and the block girdle, you should be able to transfer all of your parts. Replace all of the main and rod bearings-have the clearances checked-don't try this yourself unless you are pretty skilled. Have the bores checked for taper and out-of-round. If the bores are good, have them honed and install new piston rings. You could also have the block decked (the machine shop refinishes the deck to a true flat surface). You should not pay more than about $250 for a bare block.
