Header question regarding USDM EP3
I've posted this in some other threads, but it's gone ignored and unanswered. Perhaps those members that seem to be in the know (George Knighton, AJ PWR, B18CXr) could direct some of their attention towards this post...
I'm wondering if CTR spec headers will bolt on to the Si. I've read that due to the cat and b-pipe placement, the catback exhausts of the 2 EP3 cars are of different lengths. This led me to wonder if one could overcome this problem if he bolted on a header made for the CTR (be it OEM or aftermarket). Then, he could replace the rest of the exhaust from the header back with CTR compatible stuff too.
Now in theory this should work, just like it did on the EM1 Si, DC2 GSRs, etc, so I was wondering if it would work on the EP3 too. The reason I was thinking of doing this was that most of the EP3 stuff is 2.25" piping from the header back, and most of the JDM is 2.5" from the header back. Just wondering if that extra .25" will be as beneficial as it was for the B-series motors.
