Default valve adjustment, need answer ASAP thanks

If the specified range is 0.006" to 0.007", should I use my 0.006 or 0.007 feeler gauge to adjust?
Thanks.

Use the smaller one.

IMO I would use the bigger gauge if the engine is cold and the smaller if the engine is warm...shouldnt matter either way tho

You're supposed to do a valve adjustment when the engine is cold anyways though.

Cool, thanks. Only 3 of 16 needed adjustment but I expect massive WHP gains.

Yeah you're suppose to but when a customer brings in their car at the honda dealership(or any shop for that matter) for a valve adjustment and the engine is still warm the tech isnt gonna just let the car sit til it's cool when the car is scheduled to be repaired right away....which is why there's that .001" difference I believe

On cars where we need to get them out fast. We typicaly do the vlave adj last. After a few hours of cooling down. Sometimes in the factory manuals they give you a lash for hot engines. The toyotas need to be adjusted hot(typical). But I let the hondas cool down as long as possible. Im a Perf machannic in Seattle.
