Default Apex`i N1 Exhaust

I'm leaning towards buying one for my 00 Si with b18c5, does anyone have experience with this exhaust.... i am wishing and praying that it doesnt give that nasty raspy noise. Anyone had experience, if you could please explain ?

I don't care for them. They're entirely too loud and high pitched for my liking. I'm a social conservative though...your milage may vary. I like the Apexi WS and Comptech exhausts for their relative silence, performance, and affordability.

They are loud as hell and when u get on it you better have a loud stereo because you probly won't hear it when your cruising.

The noise is kewl for about 5 mins then it's old. They're dreadful on the highway...at least IMO. Constant droooone.

hmm strange...i have N1 on my GSR and drone doesn't bother me at all.
i don't even listen to my radio that loud. only time i think it gets REALLY loud is WOT, but it gives a nice DEEP tone. racing medallion gives a high pitched that i'm not too fond of

It's all about personal tastes I guess. I wouldn't have one on a daily driver though.

It's not even that loud. I had one and my brother had one. It's only kinda loud when you're shifting and accelerating, but while you're cruising, it's pretty quiet but you'll notice that it's there. Mainly loud when gas is put on, but once you let go and keep it steady, it's not loud. Custom piping is what gives you that nasty sound.

what do you mean by raspy though? like umm a lawn mower noise type of deal? It's pretty clear and free flow sounding to me.

In general a smaller canister will produce a higher frequency exhaust note. This applies to the N1 IMO.

I agree with SMZ GSR ......I have one on my 00 Si and it's really DEEP and nice sounding....not too loud though, not really loud at all. I love mine.

I agree on your canister size - tone theory. As long as the pipes are about the same diameter I'de say your right.

N1 is kinda deep sounding at lower RPMs but it is not smooth kinda brassy like the Evo. You can hear how open it is even at idle. Sounds sorta deep & rough then a high pitched wail in the upper 1/3 of the RPMs. on a scale of 1-10, 10 being raspy the N1 is an 8. Way to loud for my tastes. I like the sound of the Greddy SP on B18c1 so i bet it would be nice on a C5. Too bad it's not as nice as the all stainless Tanabes wich are too loud too good luck.
