They have the same rotor as the EX and Integra do. They are not the same as either the EX or the Integra knuckle. They are a direct replacement for the 4th gen stock stuff, like the EX, and do not change the suspension geometry like the Integra knuckles do. They require a mod to make them fit correctly unlike the EX's which just go in... no mods.

Mod shown here -

thanks for the site. why do you have to cut the tie rod? do i have to change the mc and brake booster? i'm eventually going to do the rear disk conversion.

The actual caliper is the SAME as the EX sedan. They are 100% interchangable. So, right now, my car has the SiR knuckles up from with EX calipers and the stock drums in the rear. The setup is exactly the same as the EX sedan. It only makes sense that you should use the EX master cylinder.

The difference is that the EX has the 15/16" master cylinder. All the other models have a 13/16" master cylinder. To get a correct feel (and probably a safety issue as well) I would suggest you use the 15/16". You won't need to change out the booster as it is the same for DX/Si/EX...etc.

I don't know how the pedal would feel without upgrading the mc. I did an ITR upgrade, which is a 1" master cylinder and booster, at the same time as the knuckles.

doods I just don't get it

I use the 91 teg front brakes(knuckles/calipers/rotors) on my 89 civic which I use on the track and I'll tell you right now that you don't have to do any mods BUT you have to get an alignment to correct the toe.

And if there are any camber issues with pos camber...I assume all of you guys who are doing brake swaps already have a lowered car so it won't matter. I run 2 & 1/2 neg camber in the front with those teg brakes.

My car handles REALLY good (yeah I have some serious spring rates) and I have no probs.

The only thing I would say is bad about the teg knunkles are they are ****** heavy(so I might be taking them off and putting si brakes back on).

So sorry but I donno what all this cutting and threadings about

OH NEVER MIND I guess you do the mod for the sir knuckles...I didn't read

uhm but why are you rethreading the rod for? Are you using JDM rod ends...are they a diff pitch? Why not just use your rod ends and the sir knuckles?

I like your paint job

On the SiR knuckle, the arm that goes out to the tie rod is about an 1/2 inch longer than the EX/DA one. And so this causes toe-in. Unless of course you counter the extra knuckle arm length by shortening the tie rod. It's a bolt-on affair after that.

Well according to everyone the ex is not the same as the da so infact you are saying the sir knuckle has the same toe geometry as the da knuckle? Because on the DA knuckle the only thing you have to correct for is the toe.

Why is he shortening the rod why not just turn it in? can he not get enough toe out?

I know with my da knuckles I can get toe out with no problem.

DA springs are interchangable with ED/EF ones. I got those for cheap and they were stiff. My shocks gave in to all the torture so I'm running a real suspension now with real threaded shocks and even stiffer springs. Cornering has never been so fun!

Stock inner tie-rods "might" work, but you will be left with no room to adjust toe. The hole in the knuckle that the tie-rod ball joint fits into is located more inward to the center of the car. The threads and the cut off were necessary to provide the necessary features for toe adjustablity.

As far as "why not use DA knuckles" - The car had the stock LX/DX/Si stuff on it. I had a set of EX knuckles that were gathering dust and traded for the SiR ones. A few months later I finally got around to swapping knuckles. The SiR set is much beefier like the Teg parts, but maintains the stock geometry which is the main reason I didn't keep the EX knuckles.

It won't work without the mod. A guy I met had SiR knuckles on his HF and an alignment shop couldn't correct the toe-in.

I read DA knuckles cause a camber/caster problem, not a toe-in problem.

so i just have to cut 1" in from the end of the inner tie rod end to make this fit and everything else is a bolt on. do i need to go for alignment after. civic si mc not go enough for this set up?
