my system stopped working.....someone help!!!!!!!!!
k yesterday i was rearranging my trunk where my sub and amp WAS. i moved the amp around a lil bit and all of a sudden my subs stopped working. so i was like 'OK?" i tried wiggling around the wires and nothing worked.
the amp is a kenwood 99 model (KAC 716) mono block that i just bought, a day before it stopped, used from a friend for $100. head unit is a pioneer deh p6300. two ultimate 10" subs sealed box. stinger amp wiring kit.
i thought it was just the audio wires but after i tried another similar kenwood amp it still didn't work. and then i tried a 50 watt amp and all it did was give out a whining noise.
what could that problem be. inline fuse is good, amp fuse is good, subs ARE still working. the only thing i can think of is the fuse on the head unit but the head unit works fine so i doubt it.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP SOLVE MY PROBLEM. THIS IS URGENT.

Hmm...sound like you might have a break in a line somewhere. I'd check for voltage between power cable and ground, amp ground to chassis, and the rca's. Also, if your subs are in a box, it's possible that a connection came off one of the subs itself. Happened to me.
are you sure you didnt pull your ground wire loose when you were moving things around? check all of your wiring connections in the trunk and check out any fuses too....
hmmm...yeah i haven't checked the ground yet but the amp is on cuz the light is on doesn't that mean i still have ground ??
Yes, you have ground, but it doesnt' necessarily mean it's good. Problem probably isn't that, then. More like the speaker connection itself. Put a multimeter to the speaker outputs and see if the amp gives off any voltage.
speaker outputs? you mean where the speaker wires, coming from the subs, connects on the amp ? like the speaker terminal on the amp itself?
the amp is grounded where the lower part of the seatbelt bolts into the body. and its not going anywhere so its not that. i'm getting power.......the rca's fine...how do i set up a multimeter to check for voltage ?

sorry to be annoying ......but theres a set of numbers :
it says 200 mV 2V 20V 200V 1000V which one do i set it to ?
so after i check the amp for signal, i check the subwoofer wires for signal ?

k i hooked up the multmeter (set on OHMS) with the wires coming from the subwoofer and it read 4.......does that mean anything?
anyone ? i gotta go to work in a couple hrs and i wanna get this fixed or at least know what the problem is ?
if your amp is showing that it is on...and your speaker wire running from the amp is hooked up and showing power is running thru them....like the other guy said it could be the wiring in your box...if your wiring inside isnt secure, moving the box around could have made a connection come loose....
if you have checked everything else then pull the sub and check the wiring..that shouldnt even take you five mins to do

yep i checked that already! and all is good inside the box.
i'm thinking its the RCA cables but i tried another set from my home stereo and still nothing so.....i dunno......i'm really stumped.

Were you pulling at any of the wires really hard?
probablly will end up being something really stupid and will **** you off!! thats usually my luck
sorry I couldnt help at all
