quick help needed...
ok guys so my mom's mazda protege's battery died and i had to jumpstart it.. well now the alarm is fucked up.. the LED is solid on and when i press the button on the remote it doesnt do anything.. i have to lock/unlock it manually now.. does anyone kno of a quick fix or do i need to get it checked out by a pro? i am fairly competent when it comes to electronics and cars so lemme kno what to do.. TIA!
if the LED is solid then the alarm is in Valet Mode, make sure you didn't accidentally hit the valet switch. If not just take it out of valet mode. Each alarm is different so look at the user manual that came with your alarm.
You probably need to turn the ignition on and press the valet switch for a couple of seconds to take it out of valet mode.
I agree, it's crap or hooked up wrong if it goes into valet by disconnecting the battery.
