Default one day paint jobs?

My si really needs to be painted, but its also my only means of transportation. Thus, I must ask you guys..are there any shops that do one day paint jobs? If it does exist, what are the out comes of the paint job itself?

p.s. I did a search and it didnt come up with anything helpful to my questions. thanks all.

Wow!! One word can sum up the paint job. Mean.

turbopanda: hehe I'm a big fan of your EK. Anything new since your last major post about your car?

yeah, apparently maaco is the king of 1-day jobs. i've heard horror stories. heresay aside, the facts are, they do very basic jobs, even at the highest paint preference level. the outcome of your job from maaco is all dependant on 1) how much you pay, and 2) the skill of the employees working at the maaco you go to. This same thing goes for Earl Scheib and most other 1-day places.

The color is inferno red. It is a 3 stage paint.

You could sand it down yourself and drive around (if it's nice whether) then send it to the shop, that way you get the best quality after only 1 day.

Yes there is. They are horrible. How do you think they are able to do a paint job for the price they do, in the time they do? CHEAP *** MATERIALS.
Someone may be able to do a nice job in a day ie the beautiful integra in this thread. But a one day shop will not. Basically a job that costs you less than 1k will be substandard.

Some peoples interpretation of a nice or even decent paint job are different. If you think painfully obvious orange peel and 1 stage paint and clearcoat that dulls in three months is good than by all means.

You dumb ****. Read all the posts you want on this board, some people have good experiences with them, some people don't. I have had a terrible experience with them, and since you are basing your opinion on other peoples post and not your own experience you need to stfu. ill tell you that when i picked up my car there was point on the steering wheel and door sill, there were bubbles already forming by the door molding and the color(silver) was NOWHERE NEAR the actual color of the rest of the car(i had the door done) because they CUT MAJOR CORNERS TO SAVE YOUR CHEAP *** MONEY. I had to gripe with the guy for an HOUR until i finally got my money back and went somewhere else. The guys REFUSED to show give me a receipt at first because he said it wasnt in the computer, I had to physically reach across his desk and turn his monitor and force him to print me a receipt. Then, the first body shop I took it to said they wouldnt fix it because maaco uses such shitty *** paint that he wouldnt even want to get involved, not worth his time. Now, I'm not saying every maaco has such horrible customer service, but if you think "they are fine" you are a ******* tool. They cut sooo many corners and use such shitty products. Please do make ignorant statements, you pollute the whole board with false knowledge and someone will actually take your advice. Do some reasearch first.

Yes you can get it done for that much. But you won't be getting a metallic black like how OEM is, meaning how OEM has those little metallic flakes in their paint, Maaco can do a flat looking black for that much. It will still have a nice gloss to it but it just won't look very matched if you go up close. Who knows, it may be very noticeable without the flakes even from far away.. I dunno.
