Default Gave the engine bay a bath.............

So Opi's car had a BAD oil leak near the VTEC solenoid. We replaced the cam seal, as well as the VTEC solenoid gasket/screen, and it took care of the problem. His block was severely oil soaked, so we got to scrubbin'!

The before pic, not bad, but it could use some cleaning....

Now let's take a closer look ......

After a bunch of degreaser, and some scrubbing, the finished product (still wet)

And the block

Had to wash his car afterwards, so did our buddy

His looked so much better, I did mine as well. Won't show my before pic, too embarrassing

Drying off...

Check out the carbon fiber dash!

how much was the vtec solenoid gasket/screen? i have a 94 ex accord and replaced it and it cost me 50 dollars due to them being on back order for 3 more weeks. i had to get it from luiasiana (sp?). i live in fl btw. and are all the vtec solenoids the same? or did someone dick me?

What?! What happened to your car? I've been gone a few days.
i was driving the other night.. car just died.. no power to the fuel pump, no spark.. i dont know what the problem is.. im hoping its some thing simple and not too expensive since im already gonna spend a lot on a tow truck..but hopefully tomorrow it will be all fixed and running again so i can throw some nice 11" brakes with nice 4 piston calipers on her..

Is the block the only portion of the engine that degreaser was applied to? If not you have more guts then me (all electronics wrapped in plastic). All the same nice job on the clean up I need to stop being lazy

I need to find a set of those SSRs your friend is sporting. They aren't lightweight, but they are the only 16s I wouldn't have a problem putting on the car, beyond the TE-37.

I had a similar problem on my SR truck. Turned to be an inline fuse that had a short in it. Yours is prolly wired a lot different than mine, but look into the wiring for the fuel pump.

Yup, my motor is "Special Edition" Known in some parts of the world as the 3 legged bitch, it produces an estimated 86 hp, 57 lbs of torque. Top speed of approximately 60mph, depending on what's pushing.

j/k dude, the 4th wire is under those 3
