Default 4th gen Lude interior question.

I have a 92 prelude. I recently bought a leather interior out of a 96 to swap. One prob I am noticing is that the 92 drivers door panel has the power mirror controls in the door where the 96 panel I bought doesnt. The 96 has the controls in the updated center consol. So I was hoping to be able to buy this 96 console also and run the wiring to totally upgrade my interior. I was wondering if anyone knew for sure that the parking brake difference would still work on my 92. Im sure Id have to get the whole assembly. Could I buy this 96 console and just swap it without any mods? Thanks!

You would have to move your parking brake to the left so it would fit through the center console from the 96. You would have to probably drill some holes or do a custom mounting job for it to fit correctly. Also i'm not sure if your rear console would have to be removed. I'm almost positive that the mirror switches are the same so you could just re-run the wiring to it on the center console. The parking brake does need to be relocated to the left so it will come out the center console.

yes the wiring for the mirrors is identical...if u had the 92, then youd bneed the middle piece ni the back since you have the console that cut through the back seat..and yes u have to modify your e brake to fit...definately worth the switch though...peace

Yeah. I am VVVEEERRRYYY excited about stumbling upon this interior. Not to mention lucky. I found it at a local salvage yard in PERFECT condition! I got both door panels (with the window and lock switches) Both rear side panels. Both front seats (drivers has lumbar and memory which is an upgrade for me) Both back seats. The middle peices in between the back seats which had the speaker grill built into it. All for $600!! And when I went to get it... they were so busy I had to pull it myself so he threw in a few parts I needed. Which were, nicer looking corner peices in the dash, which had the tweeters and brackets. The 6x9 mounting bracket that mounts behind the rear seat center console (also has a small amp built in for the 6x9) Perfect floor mats. And the sunroof switch cluster.... cause mine had quit lighting up. He's gonna give me the center console and parking brake set up for another $50 so I was wondering about the parking brake being to the left like that. I was hoping a different bracket would be under there that would mount in the same holes that will be in my car, moving it to the left. But Im sure I can handle any mods. I got hooked up

I had run into the same problem a while back when I had a 95 interior but what I had done is had an upholstry shop make the hole in the insert where the 92 insert had a hole and problem was solved!

Has anyone actually done the conversion from center ebrake to side ebrake conversion.I posted this question awhile back with no response.I would love to change consoles to the newer one with the cup holder but the ebrake was holding me back.Any info would help.

It's going to be a huge PITA (not to mention probably pretty pricy) to accumluate all the parts you will need to move the switches. If it were me, I would just keep the original non-leather door panels and just enjoy my new leather seats...
