Ported will be louder.

How far away do you want to be heard? A pair of 12's or 15's will take care of you. Human hearing is not as sensitive to lower bass frequencies. Normally you can play at a higher SPL, without your ears ringing.

Either way, you should not boom for extended periods of time. It is not good for your hearing.

Whats your reasoning for wanting it to be loud outside of the car? Thats just as bad as when people put an exhaust on their car just so they can make a lot of noise.

the idea of wanting your stereo to be loud outside of your car sound seems retarded to me. It's one thing if you build a big system and it happens to be loud oustide the car but to intensionally build it like that seems like you're just trying to **** people off. I can see no good reason to do such a thing other than wanting to bring attention to yourself or your car.

It's like wanting a stereo in your house thats not too loud inside, but can still be heard throughout the neighborhood.

please have some respect for those around you. Not everyone wants to hear your bass.

just take out all your speakers, extend the wires and use the magnets on the back to stick them to the outside of your car.
if you live somewhere rainy, make sure to ziploc the speakers first.

or bring a boom box.

It's not going to be as clear and loud. It's all about imaging. The imaging will simply not be the same.

If you want to listen to music outside a car get a boombox. Really, that's the BEST way to get your system jacked. I never crank up my system anywhere near where I'm going to park.

ummm... i recommend any 4 big subs... RFL, Treo's, W7, mtx 9500, etc, etc... and save up for a long while and get a Harrison Lab's Drag Queen amp. If they can't hear this setup outside... ok well nothing will work lol

heh it's outlawed in dB drag, does something like 25,000 rms for 30 seconds, and takes a few minutes to charge up before each run... i forget the retail on that puppy, but only 3 or 4 out there now.
