Default REALLY big problem!!!

I just swapped an LS into my CRX. Before the swap i installed a Exedy full face organic clutch. Well i went to put the car in gear today to install the axles and it just went in...without me even pushing in the clutch pedal. I have the stock clutch cable trimmed to fit. It pulls up the arm and everything...that part is fine. It just wont engage. What could be the problem? I wanted to have this car on the road today...i guess thats shot all to ******* hell. Im REALLY pissed right now. Thanks

Make sure your axels are pushed in all the way. If they are not you can actually have the car sit on the wheels and shift throught the gears while its running and not move an inch.

I only have one axle in...thats why i wanted to get it in gear...so that i can tighten down the massive bolt that ties the alxle to the hub. Should i try and put in the other one first? I dont see how that could help me. Its like the clutch isnt even in there or something.

Without out both axels in the car won't move. As for the clutch, try to adjust the cable to it is tight. How lose is the lever on the transmission while the cable is hooked up? Can you move it with your hand freely?

Well i just went out there and disconnected the clutch cable to try to find out what was wrong. Even with the clutch cable off...and the arm ALL THE WAY DOWN...it still goes into gear w/o any pedal pressure. WTF could be the problem? Im starting to go crazy.

It will go through the gear without the clutch is the car is off.

Pull the lever up on the tranny with the cable disconnected.

Is it stiff, do you fell pressure?

Thats a good sign. Your clutch is working then. Your problem is the cable adjustment. You just need to hook it back up and take out all of the slack. You can do this by twisting the round thing on the bottom of the cable.

Well i let ALL of the slack out. I guess that i could go out there and shorten the cable a little more. I do it by cutting little sections out of the outer metal sheath and moving the adjuster part up. Ive done this before on other cars so i know that isnt the problem. What about the fact that the clutch cable isnt even hooked up right now and it will go through the gears? That just doesnt seem right. What could be causing that?

The shift linkage has nothing to do with the clutch. This is why you can shift through the gears while the car is off, or even leave it in gear while you park. Essentially you only need the clutch to get the car moving. You can shift without it once the car is in motion, but I would not recommend this. When you push the clutch you are just pulling the pressure plate off the flywheel.

Make sure the clutch pedal is not dead (on the floor). Have some one hold it out while you adjust the cable. Once all the slack is out of it, it should be fine.

So we should hold the pedal towards the seat while adjusting the cable...or should we depress it a little? And all of the slack needs to be ot of the arm that the cable connects to on the tranny? Cuz itll move like a half inch before it gets really hard to pull.

Yes, have the pedal all the way towards the seat.

Try to get as much slack out of it as you can. Once you get most of the slack out you can then adjust it by the lever on the tranny. let me know how it comes out.
