Default Motor gunk and oil deposits...from a JDM motor

My buddy got his motor in today it had a certain gunkt and oil depsoit. The source that sold the motor told us that the japanese dotn change their oil and to drain it. Can any of you tell us if this would affect the start up and any recomendatiopns....

where did you get this engine, that way i dont buy anything from them...

I would drop the oil pan and clean that sucka out. I would replace the oil with lighter weight oil like 5w-30 instead of 10w-30. Hopefully the lighter weight oil will get between the parts faster. You never know how long the motor has been sitting around so many of the internal parts are dry.

We got it from a very reliable source....We think the motor will start just too much gunk...oil deposits....
