Default Kuhmo tires

hey everyone... I looking for tires cause mine are bald. I was something that can last a while but still can handle. I used to have some crappy *** piece of sh*t BF goodrich touring tires (205/55/15). I miss the handling on my car. I was looking at the Kuhmo Supra 712s... anyone have any experience with it? Does it still hang good and how long do they last? well, i think anything is better than the bf goodrich touring tires i got!

kumo 712 are alright if you don't want to spend to much, when i got my lude it came with kumo 712 . they handle fairly good and the ones that came with the lude lasted about 2 years on, running over 100mph every other day.

I have never run Kumhos..however I have friends that have (They all drive civics.)

There tires wore quickly...due to extreme camber issues I beleive..

I have run. Yokohama Parada Spec IIs and Falken Azenis.

I highly reccomend the Yok's...great wet and dry handling, and decent treadwear. Mind you, they are a bit more expensive than the 712's.

712s last me around 7 to 9 months. the 711s are absolutely horrible, 2 of my tires are bald with less than 2k miles on them! kumho nor tirerack would do anything about it since they had no mileage warranty.

i'm probably going back to yokohoma avid h4s, at least i can get 20k miles with those.

i've used the toyo FZ-4's... not the highest toyo makes, but i was pleased. I want to go with T1-S's or the RS-1's come this spring.

I have 712's on my car right now. They are fairly cheap, (about $400-450 mounted).

The ride is a bit loud, especially when cornering. I noticed the grip is not as good as the Potenza RE730's I used to have. Also, wet grip isn't terribly good, but for the price, I'd say it's an overall good tire.

If you are just going to use this as an aggressive daily driver tire, I think that it is perfect.

For more challenging driving, I'm not really certain this tire is a competitor.

Are you kidding? No performance tire is going to be worth **** in the snow! And I don't know what you're used to driving on, but I thought my Kumhos were pretty damned good in the rain.

i use to have yokohama parada spec2s when i had my 17s. i traded those wheels for some 16s with dunlop sp sport a2s. the yokos were a lot better of a tire but now im thinking about getting es100s. for the price it will prolly be the es but will they grip as good as the paradas.

you can get the kumho 711s right now for 47 a piece from tire rack, ive got them on my car, and they handle great, they actually have quite a bit of grip as they grab nicely even when i hammer second gear, my car makes a good deal of power and they handle it well, theyve also been great in the rain...and for 188 for all 4 tires, theyre damn good...but everyone is gonna have thier diffs, but i also agree that the 711s are better than the 712s..peace

uhh.. ya like quoted above, if you even look at tire rack's recommendations, 8 in dry, 7.5 in wet, NOT RECOMMENDED for snow

i recommend either yokohama AVS ES 100's or Dunlop SP Sport FM901's. Both of which are excellent for daily driving and perform well during a "spirited" drive. And both can be be bought for about 75 dollars each. good luck.

how did you like the Dunlop a2's? I was going to get a set of these or the 712's.

Holy crap! I've never heard so much misinformation and/or second hand accounts about the 712's!!! They are great tires and will last 20k (unless your a dipshit and do burnouts and run on $LizZam3D springs with a -5 degree camber). Not good in the snow? WTF dude, what do you expect? Poor in the rain? You must be on ******* crack. Poor grip? For $60...something dollar and all the other attributes, it doesnt get any better.

WBB, who will only buy KES 712's for daily driving.

I'd highly recommend the so-3. It is unbelievable in the dry, but I haven't tried it out in the rain yet because I haven't driven the car for a month and a half. They are also useless in the snow.

don't know about how long they last because I had them on for 2 weeks before I left the country, but I've heard they are good for ~20K. They are fairly expensive, but then again, since your tires are the only thing giving you traction, thats not something you should go cheap on.

Just my $.02

i recommend yokohama ES 100's. i got a set 195/50/15 for my 91 Si and they stick to the road with the best of them and i've never heard any squealing either. Only drawback is that they are terrible in the snow but what do you expect with a high performance summer tire. And they are fine in the rain. My advice get them from tirerack.com they have great service and i only paid 52$ each.

I have the 712's. They seem pretty good and aren't wearing out that fast. How could 711's be any better than 712's, I don't get that part...

Had RE730's. Excellent in wet and dry and decent for autox. Got about 10-12k miles with 1 season of autox/speed trials. Currently have 712's and they're good for the money but can't compare to the RE730's especially for autox (I lost ground compared to other drivers). Actually it seemed like the RE730's almost gripped better in the wet bald than the 712's did new (except for hydroplaning in puddles-any tire bald is not good for that). Got about the same 10-12k miles on the 712's with autox. Probably will try the Yokohama ES100's next if tirerack ever gets them in stock. The ES100's seemed to do better in their tests.

711's have a softer sidewall, and alow alittle more PLAY, which inturn allows for a wrinkle-wall effect, giving better dry traction.... The reason that I like them, is because they compliment my driving style. I like something that bites really hard, but allows the tire to give before traction.... Just from what my seat of the pants skid pad tells me anyway.....

but if you are going to run @ high speeds, then stay w/ the 712's.... I can attest for this.... I hit a piece of rebar @ 120, went flat, but still had sidewall.....
