FI Car is starting and dying....CEL Someone help!
Hey,
I just drove from austin to dallas yesterday.
When I got in my car this morning to go to work, I started it and it started, but then it just died.
I tried it again and the car starts, but it just dies.
When you rev it, it will stay on after a while. The car idles really rough, with the revs moving up and down. The motor shakes alot more than it used it.
When driving, in between shifts, the car feels like it's going to die. I can hear the turbo spooling and I still get boost. The fuel pressure is normal as well.
I am getting the CEL checked out, but what do you guys think? The only thing I just changed was from my 3" exhaust back to my stock type r one.

I would definately check the O2 sensor if you just changed the exhaust. My car is doing this right now sort of, it runs kinda rough and backfires every once in a while, and I bet the CEL you're getting is CEL 43, right?
The CEL is for low MAP sensor voltage.
the Acura technician said that there is no voltage going to the MAP sensor.
I am running teh AFC hack by the way.

is it possible that ur afc wiring..the map output wire coming from the afc would somehow got loose, therefore the ecu wouldnt see any voltage coming from the map correct. just a thought goodluck though
Hey ART, i'm back in dallas, help!
I called Stan, and he told me to get the code, but I tried calling again later and he wasn't there.
The possibility of the AFC wiring coming off is something I've been considering. I will check that and get back to you guys.

first, check for all open wires in the wiring. check the AFC harness wiring to the ECU, and your map sensor to the wiring loom.
if that doesn't solve it.
try to write down all the settings on the AFC, then reset it..to see if it's an electrical issues...
have you tried swapping MAP sesnor, just to see if your's is still good ?
call me today, I am gonna be around dallas
