Default Are there any good 6-1/2" spkrs that are smaller than usual to fit in tight doors?

I changed this post which was previously asking about removing the door panels on my 2001 civic so i could install some kappa 63.5i speakers. Well, it turns out i got the panel off and they will not fit. Luckily they are a friend's speakers he was going to sell me if they worked, so i can just return them to him.

But now i need to find a good sounding speaker that will fit. The kappas were too deep and would hit the window when it's rolled down. I couldn't add spacers because then the panel wouldn't fit back on. So i need some very shallow speakers, but need good sound or it won't be worth doing. (i'll have to cut the hole because the stock speakers are piezos and are very very shallow because there is no magnet!!!...wierd, eh?)

Any ideas?

I didn't know anyone still used piezo tweeters. Very efficient, dunno about sound quality though.

No!! Not piezo tweeters........piezo woofers !!! Didn't know they even made them, but it looks like they're coming up with new ways of going cheaper. Unbelievable.

I think I gotta look that one up. A piezo crystal vibrates at high frequency I wonder why it'd be used for a woofer. Maybe it's just a name.

Hey, i'm with ya, believe me, i don't get it ! It doesn't say it's a piezo on it, but it's just like one......no magnet, frame is that same fiber-looking material, no screw holes, light as a couple packs of smokes. It pops in like the door panel. Really cheesy.

I looked those up on the net. They are very slim indeed. You might need to install a speaker pods . Do a search on ebay for q logic and you'll find them. $110 pr. Then you can install pretty much whatever you want.

I just wanna put a couple speakers in and don't wanna be altering the interior or paying another hundred bucks or so.
