Default AWD Civic?

Do any of you guys know anything about the drivetrains in the AWD civics? (88-91 maybe?) And is the rear suspension independent or solid axle?

Ohh the new rt-4wd uses hydrolics to engage 4wd so it can hold lots more power. The old school 4wd used silicone oil and air.

Yeah, I heard that even if you could get that transmission to bolt up to like an EF or a CRX, it wouldnt be worth it because the AWD system barely sends any power to the rear wheels. But those old wagons are really cool! I saw one with a b18c5 in it on this sight once.

it sends as much power as it needs so the front wheels stop slipping. All depends on your traction

How much would you estimate the whole system weighs? I'm not really planning on doing anything right now; it's kinda like a concept thought.

it adds an extra 300 lbs to the car. trust me, with my 6psi turbo on it, it won't spin a wheel thru a wet rainy intersection, it just launches and goes! it sends enough power to the rear!
