car only heats up 1/4 way
Bone stock 94 gsr. The weather is cold here and whenever i drive the car it wont ever heat up like normal. The guage only will get 1/4 of the way and never any higher. I changed the thermostat and still no luck. Any ideas. Ive owned nearly 10 honda/acura vehicles and this is the first thing ive seen like this.

How long has this been happening?
Mileage on the motor?
The only other thing(s) I suspect are: air pocket around the sensor...probably unlikely. Or, the sensor tip is corroded.
I don't think that there's anything wrong with the wire, so we'll leave that alone for the time being.
Test:
Run the engine and measure the resistance of the ECT gauge sending unit. It's a 1-wire, so you need to place the ohmmeter in series b/c the back of the probe and a ground.
Cold (133 degrees F), resistance should be 137 ohms.
At full operating temp or when fan comes on (185-212 degrees F), resistance should be 30 to 46 ohms.
Replace the sending unit if needed, and bleed the cooling system after replacement.
I would bleed the cooling system first and then run the resistance test.

your thermostat is probably open 1/2, where the coolant is constantly flowing threw. and not allowing the engine to warm up to its full capacity... but like you said before... you changed the thermostat... btu did you change it to a NEW one? or old?
thats just my guess, you thermostat is open, and it does not close all the way
