Default Legacy amp?

Does anybody have personal experience with the Legacy amp series?
In particular the La1990. Its a 2000 watt max amp. Like 275 watt 4 ohm with .04 or .004% distortion.

I want good sound but not looking for a huge booming sound. Yeah I realize I can plop down 300-400 and get a great amp but sound comes second to performance.

Will be running an AudioBahn 10" sub (the one with the flames on it) and two AudioBahn 6.5" 3 way speakers in the door.

This is going in a 93 Civic Si.

Flame away if you must but what I really need is an opinion on the amp or an amp in a simular price range.

Around 175.00 bucks. The buddy thats I am going through has a small stereo shop and he has one in his import and it sounds good but he is running a couple big amps and 3 more subs.

you'd be better off with a JBL 600.1 or something comparable. Check out US Acoustics too. I highly doubt that you will get anywhere near 600watts from the Legacy.

dont buy it, you can do MUCH better for 175, and stay away from autotek, dont buy a cheap amp, try and get a used jl/jbl/fosgate(olderones) or something of better quality...

I took others advice and got a u.s. acoutsitcs amp. Hasnt come yet, but they are cheap and supposedly the best for the money. I got the 4x65watt rms at 4ohm amp and it was $130 brand new shipped! Its for my components.

How do you figure that? The US acoustics amps are good amps for the money. They put out the rated watts, I've had one and I havent had any problems with it at all
For the money I think that was a good choice

Legacy is basically Pyramid. Ever heard of Pyramid? The worst! Get yourself a used Kicker or Rockford Fosgate. I saw a nice Fosgate go on Ebay for like $110 last weekend.

yeah personally I have a 85watt x 4 us acoustics amp that is great powering my speakers
not to mention unless the rockford was $110 with a min to go in the auction, they usually dont end that low on auctions

yeah I guess...like I said the usually dont sell really low...probablly because all of the rockford amps I have looked at were probablly double the wattage as that one...
still think he made a good choice, for the money he wanted to spend he got a good amp

still dont get it, listen, i bought a Coustic 620 watt for about $70 used, still think he got a good deal?
you only get a 'good deal' when you get quality stuff man! and in my opinion u.s. acoustics isnt exactly quality

yep still think he got a good deal....if you do some reading you will find that us acoustics makes really good mid level amps...there is no way a us acoustics amp is in the same category as a legacy or pyramid amp....
now I am not saying its in the same standards as a rockford amp at all...but like his post said he knows he could go spend 300 or more on an amp...but wasnt looking to spend that much on his car audio
what you think is quality and what I think is quality could be two different things
I own on of their 4 channel amps and I know the sound I get...so for the money I think he will be happy with what he got

I hooked up a Rockford Fosgate 100 Watt amp to 8 15" MTX blue thunders and ppl 1/2 mile away called the cops. Also I tried a 100 Watt Phoenix Gold, it rocked out as well.

The whole key to that install was to drop the ohm load down to 1 Ohm or even 1/2 an Ohm. That's how you really extract power from your amp. The quality amps will drop, cheap ones will not. You can fry an amp if it dosen't support the Ohm load you present it. Also the ratings on cheap amps are inflated.

yeah that is totally true...while high quality amps will usually support the load users are looking for...I was only saying that the guy wasnt looking for top notch stuff...neither was I when I was looking for my setup...I got a good deal on a JL sub that only cost me 60 dollars...
from what I have read about the us acoustics amps is that for the money they produce the wattage that the claim...my amp is 85 x 4 and for under 200 dollars I think it was a really good choice for myself...
I know all about the cheap amps...I had some piece of junk 600 watt amp back in the day that I had powering 2 12" rockfords sounded good....but when I switched the amp to an alpine v12 the difference was night and day
