Default Question... Anyone ever puta d16y7/8 in a 89 rexSi.....Comments welcome!!

PAIN IN THE ***?
What Axles?
Wiring pretty much just and adapter, couple wires 4 V-tec
What Compression piston do the y/7 vs. y8 come with?
And I was wondering if "rod" wise, in both of these models if they were the same or one being like, Lets say? like a d16a6 taller rod w/ 9.0-1 tops vs a d15b7 shorther rod w/9.2-1 tops, Follow me?

Any input would be cool

Thanks-Cole

1. Your axles
2. Y7 use the d16a6 ecu, dizzy and injectors. Y8 has a couple of options: 1. convert to obd1, use harness adaptor, Y8 dizzy, Y8 injectors, z6 ecu. 2. Use pm6 (d16a6 ecu) and rpm switch. 3.Use Pr3(obd0 b16a) ecu with mugen program wire vtec solenoid and vtec pressure sensor, plugs in to your harness
3. 9.2:1 (?)/ 9.6:1
4. i dunno

Awsome, goos **** at what turned out to be the right moment
basically-y7 pm6 good - use rpm switch off dizzy to activate vtrc? got me on that one?
3. Pr3- Use a Pr3(obd0 b16a) ecu with mugen ?program? or i can get a clip that adds those sensors called mugen and just have to loc., them on eng. harness?

But hell ya, Thanx

1. Yes rpm activation switch from summit 75 dollars
2. No the mugen program deletes 2nd O2 sensor and knock sensor that the PR3 will be looking for and therefore will not throw codes. The PR3 also has fuel curves and timing curves for VTEC that the PM6 won't do. I've got the PR3 in my setup and love it for almost a year now with no complaints.
