Since I am under 18 and still live at home my parents are always taking my keys and then leaving me alone keyless and unable to go out. After reading some repair manuals about the ignition system in my 90 rex I think it is possible to splice into the ignition wires and essentially make it so you could turn on the car with a switch under the drivers seat. Now calm down i realize that i am just asking to get my car stolen and so i wanted to get to switches, except one be a button and locate it under the dash, so then to start the car, you either need the keys(which are always being taken), or to hold the button under the dash as you flick the switch under the seat. Seems like a cool mod that would be tremendously helpful. Do you guys think this is possible????

Why not try to stop doing whatever you are doing that is making your parents take the keys from you. It sounds like they don't trust you with the car. But as far as making a "push button" start system it is possible but not a good idea if you want your car to stick around.

 

Eh, they just think that I drive too much. I just think that kind of setup would be cool, even if you did have keys. Unrealated to the keys issue, I had a cool idea for the gauges. In the cluster there is the light that lights up the gauges, could you a rig a similar setup so that with a switch you could change the color of light on your gauges???

how about you go to your local hardware store and just have a spare key made?
