Hi guys, I have a 92 vx civic and am having some problems I can't diagnose. First the idle is floaty, it will go to 1200rpm, then all the way to were it wants to stall. Also it has a miss at part throttle up to 3k then it runs fine, also at wot it runs fine. Any ideas what it could be? I have put new plugs and wires and tried some fuel cleaner and different brands of gas to no avail.

The miss at part throttle is something alot of VX's have. Someone posted what fixed theirs a while back but I can't find it

The idle problem could be vacuum related. Check all your hoses again and maybe clean out your TB and change the fuel filter.

How many miles do you have?

 

---is your engine light on by any chance?
if it is, check the code to see what the problem is...

Thanks for the replies, I have 159,000 miles on the car (B-swap coming in summer). The check engine light came on one time and the car ran fine, other than a lack of power, kinda slugish..but idle and miss were gone.It is really strange you hold say half throttle and it will miss and buck right until 3k and then it just takes off like you floored it. I was thinking fuel filter or clogged cat, but thought it would make the probelm at higher RPM's when there is more strain on the motor?
