Default Does alarm rearm after doors have been open?

I was wonder the doors to my car were open my doors without disarming the alarm, does the alarm rearm if the doors are left open? I ask this question because if someone slim jim and open my door, couldn't they just wait until the alarm just turn itself off, then take the car? I have a Dei alarm.

The alarm never turns itself off. It just turns off the siren. So to answer your question. If they opened the door and waited for the alarm siren to *quit* sounding, then the siren would not sound again until another sensor was triggered. So if they go into the car and were really gentle and didnt trigger the shock sensor they could steal the deck. If they tried to start the car the alarm would go off, though. But, trip any DEI sensor 3 times and it bypasses the sensor. Hopefully someone will respond to the alarm before this happens though.

To make you feel bad about this, all they have to do is open the door, leave it open and wait for the siren duration to end and then gently pop the hood and clip the siren wire. Then they have all the time they need. Hopefully the shock sensor will pick up the hood being popped.

Good Luck
